Nervous about the dentist? Start here

Nearly half our patients would rather be somewhere else. Here is how a visit works when you tell us that.
Nervous about the dentist? Start here

If you have not seen a dentist in years because the thought of it makes your stomach drop, you are the person this practice was set up for. Tell us when you book, and the visit changes.

The first appointment is a conversation

You sit in a chair, not the chair, and we talk. What happened last time, what you are worried about, what you want to get out of coming back. You can leave without opening your mouth if that is where you are.

You are in charge of the pace

We agree a stop signal before we start anything. Nothing happens without you being told first, and nothing continues if you raise a hand. Appointments are booked longer so nobody is watching the clock.

It gets easier

Most nervous patients find the second visit is very different from the first. By the third, most are just patients. If it stays hard, we can talk about sedation, but most people never need it.
